TEMPORARY EXHIBITION
VIVIAN KEENAN | ANGELA TIER
Vivian Keenan
In Flotilla, Vivian Keenan presents a striking series of oxidized copper vessels that evoke the timeless elegance of ancient fishing boats. Each piece varies in size and form, gently swaying with the air currents—an homage to boats at rest on tranquil waters. Suspended above is Collar, a commanding half-ellipse form rendered in vivid blue. With echoes of museum artifacts and historic adornments, Collar suggests a fusion of fashion and navigation, linking journeys of the past with the pursuit of future prosperity.
In contrast, Keenan's adjacent work offers a quieter reflection. Drawing from the tradition of heirlooms passed down through generations—like cherished aprons—it speaks to memory, legacy, and care. Maro, a delicate piece crafted from recycled copper ribbon and braided wire, embodies these values. Meticulously handwoven, it invites reverence and admiration, destined to be treasured for years to come.
Angela Tier
Angela Tier’s Oracle Dogs stand in quiet communion—winged, watchful, and wise. Like guardians from another realm, they face one another in a silent dialogue of grief and grace. Made in mourning for a cherished animal companion, these urns hold more than ashes; they carry the weight of love, loss, and the longing to remain forever tethered.
Their stillness speaks. It tells us that even in parting, presence endures. That to love deeply is to feel the ache of change—the turning of the wheel, the shifting of seasons. The Oracle Dogs, ethereal and steadfast, invite us to sit in that stillness, to honor the beauty of what was, and to gently embrace what will be.
